Lifeline

Privacy Policy

Effective October 27, 2026

The short version

  • This policy covers the Lifeline website and waitlist. The app isn’t available yet and will come with its own privacy policy when it launches.
  • To join the waitlist we only ask for your email address.
  • We use it to send launch news and possible early access. You can unsubscribe anytime.
  • We never sell your information or use it for advertising.
  • Questions or requests? Email hello@lifelineapp.co.

Who we are

Lifeline is a personal safety app for iPhone that is still in development. Lifeline is run by its founder, an individual based in Ontario, Canada. The founder is responsible for the personal information described in this policy and handles all privacy questions and requests. You can reach the founder at hello@lifelineapp.co.

This policy explains what information lifelineapp.co collects, why we collect it, who helps us handle it and the choices you have. It applies to this website and the Lifeline waitlist only.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist

We ask for your email address and nothing else. We don’t ask for your name, phone number or location.

The security check on the waitlist form

When you submit the form, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you’re a person and not a bot. To do this it processes your IP address and basic technical information about your browser, like its type and version. Our server also passes your IP address to Cloudflare as part of this check.

Your email activity

Our email provider records when you joined, where you signed up and whether you confirmed your subscription. It may also record whether you open our emails or click links in them.

Visit statistics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and understand how people find the site. It records things like the page viewed, the site that sent you here, your approximate location (country, region and city) and your device type, operating system and browser. It doesn’t use cookies or track you across other websites. Visits are grouped using a temporary code that is discarded after 24 hours, so we only see totals and can’t tell who you are.

Technical information

Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically processes technical information such as IP addresses when pages load. This is needed to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

When you email us

If you write to hello@lifelineapp.co we receive your email address and anything you include in your message.

Cookies and browser storage

This site doesn’t set its own cookies and doesn’t save your email in your browser. Cloudflare’s security check may use strictly necessary technologies to tell people apart from bots.

How we use your information

  • To send you a confirmation email, then launch news and possible early access
  • To protect the waitlist from bots and spam
  • To understand how many people visit and join so we can improve the site
  • To reply when you contact us

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We don’t use it for advertising and we don’t share it with advertisers.

Your consent

By joining the waitlist you agree to receive emails about Lifeline’s launch. We send a confirmation email first and only send launch emails once you confirm. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw your consent at any time.

Who helps us

We use a small number of trusted service providers. They handle your information on our behalf and only for the purposes described here.

  • Kit manages the waitlist and sends our emails. (Kit’s privacy policy)
  • Cloudflare runs the security check on the waitlist form. Cloudflare also uses the technical signals from these checks to improve its bot detection. (Turnstile privacy addendum)
  • Vercel hosts the website and provides visit statistics. (Vercel Web Analytics privacy)
  • Google provides the email account we use to read and reply to messages sent to hello@lifelineapp.co. (Google’s privacy policy)

We may also share information if the law requires it, for example in response to a valid court order.

Where your information is stored

Our service providers are based in the United States and may store or process your information there or in other countries. When your information is outside Canada it is subject to the laws of that country and may be accessible to its authorities under those laws.

How long we keep it

  • Your waitlist email: until you unsubscribe, ask us to delete it or we close the waitlist
  • Visit statistics: kept only as totals, for as long as Vercel’s reporting allows on our plan
  • Emails you send us: as long as we need them to help you and keep a record of our conversation

Your choices and rights

  • Unsubscribe anytime using the link at the bottom of any of our emails.
  • Ask to see the personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct anything that’s wrong.
  • Ask us to delete your information.
  • Withdraw your consent at any time.

To make a request, email hello@lifelineapp.co. We’ll respond within 30 days. These rights apply wherever you live, including in California.

If you’re in Canada and aren’t happy with how we handled a privacy concern, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Do Not Track

Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal. We don’t track you across other websites, so we don’t treat these signals differently.

Security

The site uses HTTPS. Your email is sent to our server and checked there before it reaches our email provider, and our provider passwords and keys are never exposed in the website’s code. We keep what we collect to a minimum. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

Children

The waitlist isn’t meant for children under 13. If you’re under 13 please don’t sign up. If we learn that a child under 13 has joined, we’ll delete their information.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update this policy as Lifeline grows and change the date at the top when we do. If we make a significant change we’ll let people on the waitlist know by email.
