Walking home. Meeting someone new. Taking a late ride. Safety isn’t one-size-fits-all, and your plan shouldn’t be either.

In a bad moment you can’t always reach for your phone. It might be in your bag or someone might be watching your hands. Lifeline lets you plan for those moments ahead of time. While it’s on it pays attention to the conversation, the sounds around you and how your phone is moving, so it can alert your people when you can’t.

    Pick a plan like Night Walk or First Date. Each one has its own people, check-ins and lifelines.

    Start Lifeline in one tap

    It quietly pays attention in the background while your phone stays in your pocket or bag.

    If something’s wrong, your people know

    When a lifeline picks up on danger or you miss a check-in, you get a short countdown to cancel. If you don’t, your contacts get your alert and live location.

    Stay in control throughout

    Check in, extend your timer or end monitoring with your PIN. If you’re ever forced to stop it, a separate duress PIN silently alerts your people.

Sentiment & Threat Detection

Picks up on danger in a conversation even when no one says it outright like pressure to leave or a calm threat.

Secret Phrases

Say an everyday phrase like “I’m craving pancakes” and Lifeline starts an alert. Close versions count too so it never sounds forced. A safe phrase calls off an accidental alert.

Sounds Around You

Breaking glass, alarms, sirens or a sudden crash nearby.

Sudden Motion

A hard fall, your phone knocked out of your hand or violent shaking.

Vocal Distress

Fear or panic in a voice, like frantic shouting or crying, even when there are no words.

Silent Triggers

Can’t speak? Start an alert with a button pattern, a double tap on the back of your phone or a gesture on your Apple Watch.

Private by design

What we can see. And what we can’t.

Lifeline listens so it can look out for you, not so anyone else can listen in. Here’s exactly where your information goes and who can see it.

What we can’t see

  • Your alerts, including your message, live location and audio clip. They’re end-to-end encrypted from you to your contacts.

These can’t be turned off because without them your alerts couldn’t reach anyone.

You can choose to share analytics that teach Lifeline to recognize real emergencies, so it’s better at protecting the next person in danger. Analytics can include recordings or transcripts from your sessions, which is why it’s off unless you turn it on and we’ll always ask you first, clearly. You can also share crash reports to help us fix bugs.

A few things to know.

Is Lifeline available now?

Not yet. Lifeline is coming soon to the Apple App Store. Join the waitlist for launch updates and possible early access.

Does Lifeline guarantee that an issue will be detected?

No. Lifeline is an extra layer of safety, not a guarantee. It can miss things and alerts depend on your phone’s connection.

Is it always listening?

No. It only listens while you’ve turned it on and it stops when you end it.

Who can see what Lifeline hears?

Only you. Lifeline’s AI runs right on your phone. Recordings and transcripts from your sessions stay there too, encrypted. When an alert goes out it’s end-to-end encrypted from you to your contacts, so not even Lifeline can see it.

Does it work when my phone is locked or in my pocket?

Yes. While Lifeline is on it keeps listening in the background, so your phone can stay in your pocket or bag.

Who gets alerted and what do they see?

The people you choose for each profile. They get your alert message and, if you allow it, your live location and a short audio clip.

Do my contacts need the app?

Yes. Each contact joins Lifeline and agrees to be on your list, so your alerts always reach someone who’s ready to help.

What if it goes off by mistake?

Each profile decides what happens first. It can give you a countdown to cancel with your PIN, ask you to confirm before alerting anyone, or alert your people right away.

What if someone takes my phone?

They can’t turn Lifeline off without your PIN. If you’re ever forced to enter it, use your duress PIN instead and Lifeline will silently alert your people.

What if I don’t have signal?

Lifeline keeps running and saves everything from the session on your phone. If an alert can’t go out it waits and sends it as soon as you’re back online.

Does it call 911?

Not yet. For now Lifeline alerts the people you choose, and they can call 911 for you using the live location in your alert. We’re working on a way for Lifeline to reach emergency services directly. If you’re in danger and can call 911 yourself, please do.

How much will Lifeline cost?

Lifeline will be free to download.

What information do I need to join the waitlist?

Only your email address. We use it just for launch news and early access.
